The National Committee for Emergency Situations adopted at its meeting of 3 January 2021 a decision providing for the resumption of flights to and from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. However, people coming from this state must be quarantined or have a negative test for Covid-19, performed no more than 48 hours before entering Romania.
The resumption of flights measure applies starting with Monday, January 4, 2021, from 19:00 and is valid for all airports in Romania.
The suspension of flights to and from the UK had been decided on 20 December 2020 due to concerns about a mutation in the UK’s SARS-CoV-2 virus. A similar measure had been adopted in several European countries, but was soon abandoned on the recommendation of Brussels.
On the other hand, the TAROM company announced that it suspends for two days the flights from the Romanian airports to and from Great Britain. The measure, already in force, will lead to the cancellation of the flight scheduled for Monday, January 4, Bucharest-London and return. Who is exempt from quarantine when returning from the UK
