A previous executive at Union Bancaire will be responsible for various teams – and will also become a member of Vontobel’s Global Executive Board.

Christel Rendu de Lint, who has been Head of Fixed Income at Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) in Geneva since 2007, has strengthened Vontobel’s global investment expertise as Deputy Head of Investments since (today) Monday. This was to be found in a communication from the Zurich investment house. She reports directly to CEO Zeno Staub.

In her new role she will take over the management of the Sustainable Equity Boutique and the WM Investment & Thematics Boutique. The boutique heads Hans Speich and Dan Scott and their investment teams continue to be responsible for the portfolio management of the Sustainable Equity and WM Investment & Thematics boutique.

Fixed income boutique led to success

In addition, Rendu de Lint will lead the Investment Services and the Risk & Performance Team with Team Heads Gary Thompson and Sri Moorthy respectively.

At UBP, Rendu de Lint built a bond fund boutique that grew from around $ 1 billion in assets to $ 20 billion when she joined in late 2007. Before joining UBP, she was Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Pictet.

Research projects with the IMF and the SNB

She started her career in the financial sector in 2000 at Morgan Stanley in London as a Senior Economist in Sell-Side Equity Research. Before that, she studied at the London Business School and the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland and did her PhD in economics at the London Business School. During this time she worked on various research projects, including for the IMF, the British Treasury and the Swiss National Bank (SNB).

Around 300 investment experts work at Vontobel’s investment boutiques in London, Milan, Munich, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Zurich.
